Saint Kevork Pilgrimage Day

On Saturday, September 26, St. Kevork Apostolic Church of Oregon celebrated the holiday of St. Kevork as its annual pilgrimage day.

On that day guest pilgrims from the Holy Resurrection Church of Seattle and their Parish Priest Fr. Yeghia Isayan visited St. Kevork Church of Oregon. After a brief church service, Fr. Yeremia Khachadryan welcomed all the guests who came from Seattle. Afterwards, he gave a sermon on Holy Miuron and its importance in the Armenian Apostolic Church. Fr. Yeghia Essayan talked about St. Kevork’s faith, his conduct, his character, his virtuous life and his devotion to God, and talked about the meaning of covenant, about sainthood and the intercession of saints.  He also encouraged the parishioners to follow the example of the Saint.

After the church service, a “madagh” food that was prepared by the Ladies’ Society of St. Kevork Church was served.

All pilgrims celebrated the Saint’s holiday in a joyous atmosphere like a one happy family. Encouraged by the great outcome of this gathering, parishioners along with Fr. Yeremia and Fr. Yeghia, decided to plan such gatherings more often.
